World | Two acts signed on Warner Music France won a 2020 MTV EMA Award
The online ceremony of 2020 MTV EMA took place on November 3 and awarded the most popular music acts of the year. Among the winners are David Guetta and Master KG – two acts signed on Warner Music France.
MTV EMA are a global award, which annual ceremony gathers millions of viewers worldwide. With domestic and regional editions, the award sheds light on the most popular acts on different scales.
This year ceremony was livestreamed on November 3, 2020 and hosted by British band Little Mix. The award ceremony was marked by several artistic performances from all over the globe – including David Guetta performing “Let’s Love” with Raye from Budapest, or Latin star Maluma singing a medley of “Djadja” & “Hawai” from London – delivering an on-screen duet with Aya Nakamura singing her part in “Djadja” in French.
Most of MTV EMA’s categories are open to the public vote and nominates both local and international acts.
Among this year’s winners, two acts signed on Warner Music France are standing out:
- David Guetta in “Best Electronic” category.
Guetta was also nominated in “Video for Good” category for “Let’s Love” featuring Australian singer Sia.
- Master KG in “Best African Act” – a category available in the African edition of the MTV EMA. His hit song “Jerusalema” featuring Nomcebo Zikode having marked this summer and reached more than 200 millions views on YouTube.
In the French edition of the MTV EMA, the audience voted M Pokora as “Best French Act”. He was in competition with Soprano, Slimane & Vitaa, GIMS and Aya Nakamura.
