USA | Lous & the Yakuza performs “Amigo” on The Tonight Show
Lous & the Yakuza’s new album Gore (Sony Music France) reached the American border. One week after its release on the 16th of October 2020, the Belgian-Congolese singer mader her US TV debut as the musical guest of NBC’s Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
After one week, Gore hits the top of Apple charts on several continents: it is the 10th most downloaded album on Apple Music in Belgium, the 55th in Mauritius and the 125th in Panama. Gore also meets its audience in the USA, being the 1002nd most bought album on iTunes.
Lous and the Yakuza (Columbia France – Sony Music France / Astérios Spectacles) is now promoting her album, produced by El Guincho (Rosalía). At the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Lous and the Yakuza presented the track “Amigo”, which music video was released earlier n September and now accounts more than 636 000 views. The music video uses a strong imagery to stress out feminist lyrics, the same way as her COLORSXSTUDIOS performance did.
In France, the song was picked for a live session when Lous and the Yakuza appeared on Quotidien, a local TV talk show. A few days later, in the USA, the track was used on a similar show: Jimmy Fallon’s. Produced by national broadcaster NBC, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has an international audience, including Australia and Canada. The performance video was directed by Amber Rimell & Brosnki de Tawbox Studio and produced by La Blogothèque. It was seen by more than 48 000 people on YouTube since the last two days. It echoes some elements of the music video, such as the group of men dancers that the singer faces.
