UK | French production awarded at UK Music Video Awards
UK Music Video Awards took place at London’s Roundhouse on October 22. Several French or produced in France artists have been rewarded.
The artist Baloji (Peer Music France) triumphed at UK Music Awards in the category Best Styling in a Video an Association with i-D, in which Asap Rocky & Fka Twings, Mark Ronson et Rosalia were also nominated. Baloji has been awarded for the short movie “ZOMBIES”, which leads the spectator into a poetic Kinhsasa, combining hope and dystopia and querying in particular the relationship we have with our cellphones.
Made-in-France music and creation have been very well represented at UK Music Video Awards this year. Cora Novoa electro-dance artist – whose liveshow is produced by Dif Productions – won the Best Dance Video – Newcomer Award with her videoclip “State of mind”.
The French media of musical discovery La Blogothèque won an award in Best Live Video category for the Paris live session of the American artist Maggie Rogers on the single “Light On”.
The French director Michel Gondry won the The Icon Award. He has notably directed the clips of a lot of artists through the world including The Chemical Brothers, Björk, Daft Punk…
