German label Berthold Records will represent the French jazz quintet Ozma in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Berthold Records – a “new label for classical and jazz”
The Bremen-based Berthold Records defines itself as “the new label for classical and jazz” (Das neue Label für Klassik & Jazz). It was founded in 2010 by Anthon Berthold and Nicholas Bild and has since then signed artists such as Peter Schwebs Quintet, Kuhn Fu or jazz trio Lochs / Balthaus / Herskedal.
Ozma and Berthold Records met at festival-showcase inJazz in Rotterdam, the Netherlands – Ozma was part of the showcasing acts.
Upcoming album Hyperlapse has been recorded at Studio Downtown in Strasbourg, France. It will be released on February 7, 2020 via Berthold Records for GSA and French label Cristal Records for the rest of the world.
Ozma touring Equatorial Guinea and Russia
Ozma pursues its world tour: after 5 dates in Latin America – supported by Le Bureau Export and the French Embassy in Brazil, the band is going to Equatorial Guinea and Russia.
From November 6 to 12, Ozma will present “Les 3 âges”, a movie by Buster Keaton in a cinema screening with live music. The concerts will be performed with saxophonist Jonas Muel and guitarist Paul Jarret.
