World | Beethoven around the world : a world tour in 7 steps for Quatuor Ebène (April 2019/January 2020)
From April 2019 to January 2020, Quatuor Ébène will travel the world to perform around 40 shows in 18 countries across all 6 continents.
About the shows
The idea of Beethoven around the world first came up in 2014 when New York’s Carnegie Hall invited Quatuor Ébène to perform the complete Beethoven String Quartets in 2020, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the legendary composer’s birth. This invitation marked the genesis of a will to bring his music to multiple stages around the world.

Winner of 2019 Frankfurt Music Prize
On another note, Quatuor Ébène won the Frankfurt Music Prize 2019 back in November 2018 for its contribution to the international musical community. Never before had a Quartet, nor French artists been awarded this prize in the history of the event.
The award ceremony will unfold on 5th April 2019 in Frankfurt, as part of the Musikmesse, Germany’s international fair of the music industry.
