Europe | France @ Eurosonic Noorderslag 2019 (Groningen – 16/19 January 2019)

The 33rd edition of Nooderslag/Eurosonic festival takes place from January 16th to January 19th 2019 in the city of Groningen, Netherlands. The country partners this year are the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

A major showcase festival for music professionals in Europe, ESNS attracts over 4.000 professional delegates, including 400 international festivals, and showcases around 350 European artists for over 40.000 visitors total.

The ETEP network of the 100 most important festivals in Europe meets every year at Eurosonic to discover new talent. In addition, over 40 national radio stations from the UER network will also take part in the event; while its partnership with Keychange, a pioneering international initiative which encourages festivals to achieve a 50:50 gender balance by 2022, openly addresses issues regarding diversity on multiple levels.

A Made in France line-up

A total of 25 Made-in-France artists are scheduled this year. Find them on our exclusive What The France playlist and download the full line-up France @ Eurosonic here.

In addition, Aya Nakamura is this year’s winner of the Music Moves Europe Talent Awards in the RnB/Urban category. She is still in competition with Spanish singer Rosalía for the Public Choice Awards which will take place during the ceremony on January 16th.

Music Moves Europe, the overarching framework for the European Commission’s initiatives and actions in support of the European music sector, aim to help the music sector flourish by, among other things, supporting the European Border Breakers Awards in previous years. This prize has now been replaced by the annual Music Moves Europe Talent Awards.
