France | Prize list of Victoires du Jazz 2018

Les Victoires du Jazz held their 16th ceremony on October 26, 2018. During the ceremony, five artists were awarded; two recordings were distinguished and six jazz professionals were handed out an award. 

On Saturday, the 1st of December, a documentary dedicated to the 6 award-winners will be aired at 0.35 a.m. on national channel France 3; it will be broadcasted on the internet as well via CultureBox. Directed by Yan Pröfrock, this musical documentary follows the steps of the Jazz acts who made the year. It sets the audience at the core of the Jazz lifestyle – immersing it into festivals, clubs, studio, home studio, instrument makers…

For the second time this year, the Executive Board of Les Victoires de la Musique honoured the jazz professionals in France. Hence, “Professionals Victories” has been granted within the Ceremony. The goal was to give credid to music professionals, who are essential partners in the artists’ carreer and their national & international success.

Within the prize list, many Bureau Export members have been put in the spotlights:

Nominated this year: Laborie Jazz (Label of the Year), Pascal Pilorget (Promoter of the Yeare), Tony Allen (Artist of the Year), Camille Bertault,  Sandra Nkaké (Voice of the year).
