France | Le fair names the 15 French acts supported in 2019
Le fair unveiled the 15 French acts that will benifit from its training program in 2019. The artists will benefit from the artistic, professional and financial support of the structure.
Created in 1989 at the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture, le fair has become on of the most important structures focused on the support and development of nowadays music in France.
Introducing Le fair’s 30th selection
Le fair puts a focus on 5 areas of development to provide full support to its selection of 15 artists. They will notably have access to financial support, professional and artistic training, marketing and communications resources, management consultancy and legal support.
International potential and export readiness
A selection full of promises among which several artists are already active on the international scale.
Aside from the release of his debut album One Trick Pony in the end of August, Kiddy Smile had an intense year in 2018. Back in February, he took part in the Bureau Export Days and is now about to kick off the French Express Tour – a tour around Scandinavia, organised in partnership with l’Institut Français and Swedish promoter Monstera.
A fall tour granting him the opportunity to perform in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Added to it are a date in the UK and another in Germany, before coming back to France in December.
During the last two months, Voyou performed all over Germany taking part in C/O Pop Festival & Convention in Cologne, Festival Pop Kultur in Berlin and Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.
After performing in Japan for Festival Tandem in the end of September, he is about to give a concert followed by a Q&A session in London at the Institut Français in the context of the Music Rendez-Vous organized in partnership with Le Bureau Export London.
Laslty, Voyou will end the year with a performance in Brazil at SIM São Paulo. A concert opportunity supported by Le Bureau Export São Paulo.
In May, MNNQS took part in the Great Escape Festival in Brighton and the Oui Love Night in London sharing the spotlights with M.I.L.K and SuperParka. The latter was an event organized by Le Bureau Export London in partnership with The Line of Best Fit and Rockfeedback.
After a quick stop in Hamburg for the Reeperbahn Festival, the band is back in France for a tour stretching until December.
Halo Maud was among the French performers at the Great Escape Festival and Reeperbahn Festival. In the midst of a UK tour, she will soon perform in Spain and notably at BIME Pro in Bilbao.
No rest scheduled in December as she benefits from the support of Le Bureau Export São Paulo for a Brazilian Tour. Set to perform at SIM São Paulo, she will also open for brazilian singer Céu on the 8th of December. Halo Maud will end the year with a date in Rotterdam at the Stille Nacht Festival after touring in France for a bit.
All of this sounds like there is a lot of international potential for French music in 2019.
