France | Culturebox launches “Les Récréations Sonores” participative creation platform

In partnership with Spotify, Sacem, CNC and the city of Paris, Culturebox (subsidiary of France Televisions) has launched its new concept : “Les Récréations Sonores”.

Les Récréations Sonores?

Literally “Sound Recreations”, Récréations Sonores is a platform dedicated to collaborative musical creation between the general public and confirmed French artists. It’s a simple principle, the artist submits a demo with a handful of rythmic, melodic and vocal elements. Then it is the public’s turn to recreate a track with these elements, with whatever they have in mind. The Récréations Sonores team subsequently works with the artist to compose a track with the submitted components, within 15 days, and the final rendition is broadcasted live.

As of today, you can already watch the episodes with Synapson and Camp Claude. Catch the broadcast of Oxmo Puccino‘s try on Friday the 4th of May and the one by Feu! Chatterton the 22nd of May.

This innovative concept attests of the evolution in musical creation practices, which seem to be more and more participative.
