France at classical;NEXT 2018

Focus France @ Classical:NEXT

[16/19 May, Rotterdam, The Netherlands]

Classical:NEXT was born out of the idea to bring the diverse scenes of classical music together and offer them a forum to exchange and develop new ways for classical and contemporary music.
Since the first edition in 2012, about 3000 classical music professionals from more than 1000 companies and from over 45 countries have engaged with Classical:NEXT and made it into the world’s most important classical music meeting.

This year’s country focus is all about France. Classical:NEXT has commissioned Le Bureau Export and its partners to organise a Focus France. It aims at hightlighting the French cultural specificities and enticing further international collaborations.

2018 Focus France

Amongst international art music professionals the French scene is often perceived as especially hard to access. Classical:NEXT 2018 will ask how true this prejudice actually is.
French world-class artists will perform at the ‘What the France!?’ opening concert and the Focus France’s showcases. High-profile speakers from remarkable institutions will take part in conferences about the French market.

During the 4 days of the conference, many French companies will be represented at the stand expo – painting a broad picture of the current state of classical in France. The Focus France intents at helping more than 1,200 expected delegates – from 40 countires – to understand and access the French music scene better.
